FISHBONUS

Overview:
4/5
What began as the main sponsor for a bizarre live poker TV show on
Fox Sports,
Mansion
Poker has now become a major skin on the increasingly popular
iPoker network. While they don't accept US players they have become
a haven for European players, offering one of the busiest tournament
schedule online for peak European hours. Another major improvement
due to the traffic increase is the number of active no-limit ring
games. There are often more than 50 active ring games at lower
limits at
Mansion
Poker and at least 10-20 active tables up to the $5/10 level.
Almost every iPoker skin offers a solid
experience simply by being a part of the network and offering the
same busy shared tables and tournament schedule.
Mansion
Poker does go beyond the standard network promotional offerings
with the 100% bonus for our players and the Club Mansion system. As
another positive, I would rate this network in the top 3 in terms of
Fish Rating for non-US poker rooms. With an above-average software
package, large player traffic, and a decent bonus I would rate
Mansion
Poker one of the top sites on the iPoker network.
Bonus (100%
up to $500) and Promotions:
4/5
Players signing up to
Mansion
Poker through our site receive a 100% initial deposit bonus,
which is valid up to $500. Please note that players need to visit
Mansion
Poker via one of our links and use bonus code FISHBONUS at
signup in order to qualify for this increased offer. The $500 cap is
pretty sizable for larger bankrolls but lower-limit players are
given a tougher task to see the entire bonus.
Mansion
Poker players earn what are called Mansion Club Points to clear
the bonus in $10 increments. More points are earned as the rake
level increases. Playing at the $1/2 or $2/4 NL level should earn
about $2 or $3 in bonus per hour per table while those at higher
stakes will see at least $8-10 per table per hour. Unfortunately,
microstakes players may be playing over 600 hands before seeing each
$10 of bonus.
The other promotional system unique to
Mansion
Poker is Club Mansion. It is somewhat convoluted in structure
but eventually earns cash rewards or merchandise, similar to
frequent player systems at the larger poker rooms. It is a tiered
system where more points are earned the more you play at the tables
every month. Typical players will probably earn $100 by trading in
their points every few months.
Fish:

3/5
Overall,
Mansion
Poker and the iPoker network still has one of the looser player
bases despite the fish level coming a bit back down to earth over
the past couple of years. As networks continue to grow to such
massive levels they typically become tighter on the whole as more
knowledgeable players are drawn to the tables. Online poker has
become a more mature medium. The wild inexperienced players drawn to
the original poker boom have had several years to improve their
games. Add to that a pitiful global economy taken its toll on spare
income and an abundance of poker educational content and it's easy
to see why the game has slowed down as of late.
Despite those challenges,
Mansion
Poker still offers an above-average fish level, especially at
the lower limits. Below the $1/2 NL level the typical flop
percentage for 10-handed tables varied substantially between 20-35%.
At and above the $1/2 NL level those numbers settle in to about
8-20%. One of the advantages of the high traffic at
Mansion
Poker is the ability to choose between several looser tables and
ignore the extremely tight ones hovering in the single digits.
Tournaments:
4/5
The tournament offerings at
Mansion
Poker have really improved substantially with the change of
network. During the peak evening European hours they offer about a
dozen tournaments per hour. The most popular and, in my opinion,
strongest options are the non-rebuy guaranteed tournaments.
Mansion
Poker hosts a $10,000 guarantee for a $10 buy-in that usually
draws more than 1,200 players. Other guarantees under $30 usually
are for $3,000-7,000. For rebuy players there are some great values
on weeknights of up to $50,000.
The biggest weekend draw at
Mansion
Poker is the $250,000 guarantee for a $200 buy-in, which
puts this event in about the middle of the online poker pack in
terms of size. As expected, there are numerous Sit and Go and
satellites running around the clock for this event. Normal Sit and
Gos are also popular, if a bit cluttered because of the number of
variations. While it may be difficult to find enough players to fill
an Omaha Sit and Go, no-limit Hold'em events up to $20 fill up
quickly for both the normal and turbo structures.
Software:
4/5
As
Mansion
Poker is a part of the iPoker network they're running the
standard Playtech software with very few alterations. This software
package has seemingly stagnated for several years, not that it
necessarily has any glaring weaknesses. The green color scheme that
Mansion
Poker has adopted is easy on the eyes with simple graphics and a
clean interface. In terms of customizations, each player can choose
from a dozen or so avatars to represent themselves at the table.
Even though the software lacks advanced
history features, skins, and table resizing, it's familiar and
simple enough to help speed up game pace. Most 10-handed ring games
run at 65+ hands per hour, which is a bit above average. I also
recommend the mini table view at
Mansion
Poker for multitablers or those with limited screen resolution.
This mode removes avatars and highly compacts the space taken up by
the table window.
Payouts:
4.5/5
Most poker rooms looking to compete in a
crowded industry understand the importance
of a swift payout and
Mansion
Poker seems to have gone with the industry standard processing
times. Using NETeller, I've received payouts within about 18-24
hours. I've also used their bank wire service a few times with mixed
results. The typical processing time was about 7-10 days. If
possible, I would recommend using NETeller as your first choice.
Customer Service:
4.5/5
I give
Mansion
Poker a high score in this category
because they offer telephone support in several countries and 7
different languages. Most countries are offered a toll-free support
option. I always respect the ability to contact a company
immediately if I have any questions or issues that need resolving.
Despite not offering a live chat option the e-mail support usually
responds within 30-60 minutes.
Player Traffic
As
Mansion Poker and the iPoker network are highly trafficked by
European players the peak times are usually between 16:00 and 23:00
GMT. During those hours the ring game traffic is extremely high with
dozens of active tables at each limit. In fact, there is regular
action all the way up to the $10/20 NL level. Most limits offer
25-30 full 10-seated ring games and about twice that for 6-seated
tables. Fixed limit tables are busy up to about the $5/10 level.
Guaranteed tournaments attract between 500-1,000 players.
Best Features
One of the largest poker networks. iPoker now hosts countless skins,
which means a bigger and better overall experience.
Excellent ring game traffic. During European peak hours you can
expect at least 50 filled tables up to the middle stakes.
New rewards program. While the terms are convoluted players
eventually can earn a few hundred dollars as cash rewards.
A name reminiscent of my favorite
Disneyland ride with a Gothic font to boot (which, of course, has no
relevance in a poker review).

Omaha, Stud

$300/$600 No-Limit: 1c/2c up to $200/$400

wires, checks, and money orders.

Tips: As
Mansion Poker tends to attract less-than-seasoned online poker
players, I'd like to remind
you not to be overly concerned with mixing up your basic online
poker strategy methods with advanced plays. Well thought out, savvy,
and/or strategically advanced moves simply aren't valuable at loose online
poker tables. In fact, you'll probably lose EV by
setting those clever traps that you've read about in poker strategy books or
watched your favorite pro make on TV.
For the most part, online
poker players aren't extremely attentive meaning that they're less
susceptible to tricky gear-changing traps. The smartest play online
is usually to play a solid conservative game and allow your
opponents to hang themselves with their own mistakes. While that may
not be the recipe for massive no limit success at a cardroom or in a
major tournament, it certainly can make you a comfortable profit at
weak online poker sites like
Mansion Poker.
