The summer leg of the World Series of Poker is behind us but we still have some Series action ahead of us this year. Namely, the WSOP Europe 2018 is all set to kick off on Tuesday, October 9, at King’s Casino in Rozvadov, the Czech Republic.

Ten bracelets up for grabs during WSOP Europe 2018
The European leg of the World Series of Poker had its very successful debut at King’s Casino last year and now it is ready to come back even stronger. There are ten bracelet-awarding events spread across 20 days of play and featuring €13,000,000 in guaranteed prizes.
King’s Casino has managed to establish itself as one of the absolute leaders when it comes to live poker in Europe and playing host to the European leg of the most prestigious tournament series will certainly go a long way towards further cementing this status.
€550 Colossus to Attract Big Field
The WSOP Europe 2018 schedule will kick off with €550 Colossus event. The first Day 1 of the tournament will start on October 9, with seven more starting flights scattered across the following few days until October 13.
The casino has set a fairly ambitious guarantee of €1,000,000, but with the way things have been going for poker in Rozvadov, it is safe to assume the owner, Leon Tsoukernik, knows what he is doing. In all likelihood, the guarantee for Colossus will be broken.
WSOP Europe 2018 featuring two high roller events
While Colossus is geared towards all players, with a buy-in that almost every poker fan can afford, WSOP Europe 2018 also features two tournaments for those with deeper pockets. These are:
- 25,500 Super High Roller on October 24 (€1,000,000 guaranteed)
- €100,000 King’s Super High Roller on October 26 (€5,000,000 guaranteed)
The first tournament will feature the maximum of two re-entries per player (three bullets in total), while the €100k event will allow unlimited re-entries, so we’re likely to see some pretty crazy action early on.
WSOP Europe 2018 Main Event: €5,000,000 guarantee
One event that everyone will be looking to play and win is definitely the €10,350 Main Event, with starting flights taking place on October 27 and 28. The tournament features a guaranteed prize pool of €5,000,000, but we’re likely to see more than 500 entries in this one, so the prize pool should grow.
The final table of the Main Event will play out on November 2 and it is set to be a one-day affair unless something unexpected happens. Crowning of the Main Event winner will also mark the conclusion of the WSOP Europe 2018.
Players are allowed a single re-entry if they’re eliminated during one of the starting flights. They can either enter Day 1B after busting Day 1A or re-enter at the start of Day 2. All players start with 100,000 in chips and those entering at the start of Day 2 will be starting with blinds at 600/1,200 and big blind ante of 1,200, so they’ll still be fairly deep.
Plenty of good poker action to look forward to
For poker fans, big tournament series are always something to look forward to and WSOP Europe 2018 certainly promises a lot of great action. There will likely be some juicy side games as well, and these will probably be featured on YouTube on King’s Casino channel as well.
The full schedule for this year’s WSOP Europe is available on the official WSOP page. There is still more than enough time to get involved as well, so check it out and see if there is something that speaks to you.
